Tradeoffs & buying questions
Strengths
-
Analysts inherit the investigation context
Analysts can continue the existing investigation instead of recreating its evidence.
-
Queries source and SIEM data in place
Queries sources in place alongside existing SIEM data.
Considerations
-
Access, retention and question coverage matter
Investigation depth depends on granted access, source retention and the available questions.
-
Read-only investigation leaves containment with you
Read-only investigation does not itself contain a threat.
Ask before buying
- Which source APIs and retention periods limit the investigation you can demonstrate on our data?
- Which remediation templates exist, and what additional permissions or approvals do they require?
- How are seats counted, and are autonomous investigations, APIs and MCP included?

Common questions
Does Command Zero need a new copy of all our logs?
Its federated model queries connected sources directly and can use existing SIEMs or data lakes. Confirm what investigation evidence is retained and how source availability affects a case.
Will this automatically isolate affected machines?
That is not assumed for the read-only investigation offer. Command Zero also provides remediation APIs, whose templates, permissions and approval behavior should be scoped separately.
